    Writing a successful blog post

    Brainstorm blog post topics

Find subject ideas that interest you and would also interest the type of readers that you hope to reach. In general, anything related to graphic and web design is on target. But the post should be specific, about one tiny aspect that you can elaborate on.

    Define your audience

In your writing, you will want to speak directly to your audience. You will want to adopt a tone that speaks directly to them. Ask yourself who you want to reach, and what tone would be most appropriate for that type of audience. Writing for fellow teenagers and writing for adults in a jo hiring position are two different things. Adapt accordingly.

    Write engaging content

    Make it fun.

You can use AI for inspiration and brainstorming, but do not publish AI content. You are a human designer speaking in your own voice, discussing things you are personally interested in. Publishing AI content directly would hurt your professional reputation and make you appear disinterested.

Craft a headline that gets clicks

Put extra effort into coming up with an interesting title. It does a lot of the heavy lifting in getting people to come to your page.

Use images to level up your post

The first block after the title should be an image of professional quality. If you aren’t showing images of your own creation, use stock imagery from web sites like Unsplash.

If your article is long, use multiple images to liven up the page. Entertain the reader.

    Implement calls-to-action

Always end your post with a call to action. This is a technique where you encourage the reader to perform an action such as following you on your social media accounts or sign up for a newsletter.

Never leave the reader hanging at the end of the post.

    Optimize for SEO

Use the Yoast plugin to analyze your SEO and make the appropriate changes so that you get green checkmarks.

    Never publish without them.

    Refine and polish

Run a spell check, reread the post, tweak, and ask others for their opinion before publishing.

    Publish

One last spell check. Check your permalink structure. Hit Publish.

    Share your work

Share links to your post on your social media. Try to post at high usage times.
